Meg Hansen - (310)

Meg
Hansen has been in the Music Industry for nearly 15 years. She has an
array of experience in many areas of the business and has worked for major
companies including Universal Records, Universal Music Enterprises, Sony Music
Entertainment (Columbia & Work Group/Epic), Geffen Records, and Guitar
Recordings (Cherry Lane).
Independently, and through TAXI, she has screened songs for many album projects ranging from Cher to Faith Hill; she has screened artist submissions for nearly every major
label and a few indies; and song submissions for several publishers. Meg
also screens songs for Films/TV shows and music libraries. In addition, Meg loves working with exceptional new artists who
are ready to be signed. While she does not "shop" demos, she will make
appropriate introductions as she feels compelled to do so.
Meg enjoys working with producers as well and is just as comfortable with the
administrative aspects of a project as she is with the creative aspects. Her
A&R/Production Coordination experience has been focused in the Rock/Pop formats.
In addition to her creative endeavors, projects for several major companies have
included managing a high-profile multi-million dollar mechanical licensing
project for Universal Music Group. At BMG Entertainment, Meg handled contract
administration and paralegal work for Windham Hill Records on a project basis.
Also on a project basis, she created and managed online marketing campaigns for
MediaX (NSYNC.com and Stars In The Wild) and DreamWorks Records. At Tonos.com,
Meg was responsible for creating a successful new online community of aspiring
artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers; and she created and managed the
"Ask The Hitmakers" feature where she interviewed the "Hitmakers" with the
aspiring songwriters' questions.
Meg completed a BA in Media Studies from The New School For Social Research in
New York City, and also has a degree in Music Performance from The State
University of New York. Meg has worked for and learned from some of the top
executives in the music business and looks forward to continuing to learn more
and advance her career in International A&R. Meg lives in Malibu, CA and is
currently working on projects
through her consulting company, Purple Dolphin Music.
